    Emma Seppala, Ph.D is Science Director of Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education. She explains in a TEDTalk and on her web site how social connection is just as important for humans for a healthy life as eating well and avoiding unhealthy habits such as smoking.
